In the Maine Coons, this originated in Russia with Breeder Natalya Kuryanova of Cattery Iz Doma Yahontoff. We have been privileged to acquire 5 Phoenix from her for our own breeding program. At the time of this writing in 2024 there are still fewer than 50 Maine Coon with the Phoenix color registered worldwide.

Our plan is to also produce a line of Phoenix with Polydactyl and Dominant Blue Eyes, but to also keep a line of Standard Phoenix without either the Polydactyl or DBE background for those who do not want those features.
